The Secret to Getting Away with Failure

Rarely are people remembered for their failures. Though, often are they immortalized for their successes.

The successes are the brick and mortar of a better humanity, while the failures are simply wadded up and tossed in the trash. Forgotten. History doesn't credit Edison with his 1,000 failed light bulbs. Rather, it will forever sing of the passionate soul who found the one way to make it work.

Success is stumbling from failure to failure with no loss of enthusiasm.
— Winston Churchill

Naturally, we are risk averse, shying away from any possibility of being labeled a loser, a fool or a freak. So when we see those rare, brave souls who have picked up their rucksack and have set out to do new things, we wonder, "Who is so bold?" But I ask you to consider, who isn't? For to fail is quite easy; no one remembers.

So go fail. 999 times if you must. Your success could be just around the corner.

— John Green
