You can choose to put yourself in the way of beauty

When routine begins to look and feel like a rut instead of a road map, it's often because we've forgotten to look beyond it. I speak of and to myself because I'm so guilty of this. I do the same thing every day until my mind stops noticing the little things that make life beautiful and only notices the repetition in my life. Tony Robbins, in describing his morning routine, said that one of the things he does each morning is be grateful for one simple thing near him. It could be a cloud, the pen he's writing with, or the shirt he's wearing. The action of consciously being grateful for the simple things keeps him aware of the beauty that largely goes unnoticed.

There’s a sunrise and a sunset every day, and you can choose to be there for it –– you can put yourself in the way of beauty.

Beauty is everywhere; it's our choice whether or not we see it. Sometimes this takes practice... in fact, I'm still practicing. I'm practicing because I choose to see and appreciate the simple things.

I choose to put myself in the way of beauty.
